- Resilience and demand management trends
- Scalability and data management of wireless real-time energy management (WREM) technology
- Grid Integration and customer engagement
With the increase in available renewables and distributed energy resources (DER), understanding when and where energy is used is becoming increasingly important. Real-time grid intelligence empowers utilities and their customers to manage peak demand and accelerate energy efficiency.
In Colorado, Xcel Energy is working with Copper Labs to utilize real-time energy data in the area of targeted behavioral demand response (BDR) at the Sterling Ranch smart community southwest of Denver. Additionally, the community is delivering real-time water usage data and two different pricing structures (indoor/outdoor) to reduce the impact on drought conditions. Xcel is also partnering with Copper Labs to provide measurement and verification (M&V) for natural gas demand response (DR) programs in a Colorado mountain community. In this webinar, Guidehouse Insights will present on these use cases for real-time data, as well as moderate a discussion with Xcel Energy, Sterling Ranch, and Copper Labs as they speak to the real-world findings.
