Shantanu (Shan) Chakraborty is a senior research analyst contributing to Guidehouse Insights’ Hydrogen Innovations research service. His focus spans the hydrogen value chain, including electrolyzers, fuel cells, conversion technologies, end uses, and hydrogen storage technologies.

Prior to joining Guidehouse Insights, Chakraborty was a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Early Stage Researcher focusing on the reduction of electricity price volatility. He has also worked at Bloom Energy as part of the Data Analysis and Advanced Process Control teams focusing on the reliability analysis, maintenance, and control of solid oxide fuel cells for customers in the US and India. Additionally, Chakraborty worked at Tendril Networks, where he was involved in the development and simulation of physics-based models to provide customized energy saving action recommendations to utility customers in the US and Japan. Chakraborty holds a M.Sc. from Carnegie Mellon University, with a focus on the engineering and economics of electric power systems, and a B.Eng. in computer science from the University of Mumbai. He is an active member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society.
