Ricardo Rodriguez is a research analyst with Guidehouse Insights leading the Utility-Scale Energy Storage solution and supporting the Energy Storage Systems Tracker and Distributed Solar Plus Storage solutions. He specializes in financial and regulatory analysis, market sizing and forecasting, acquisition and investment evaluations, go-to-market strategy, and business process improvement for energy storage and other renewable energy technologies. During his tenure at Guidehouse Insights, he has worked with diverse clients, including utilities, Fortune 500 companies, private equity firms, technology startups, and leading software providers to ensure they have a complete understanding of their target markets and the competitive landscape in the energy storage ecosystem.

Prior to joining Guidehouse Insights, Rodriguez completed research on resource adequacy policies for independent system operators and regional transmission organizations, as well as capacity market design models, at Columbia University. He has also worked with New York University’s Real Estate Development and Facilities team through the adoption of several energy savings programs, and with Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Wealth Management team to create new sustainable investing products. Rodriguez has been cited in numerous industry publications and media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Utility Dive, and T&D World. Rodriguez is a former Fulbright Fellow, New York Teaching Fellow, and Posse Scholar. He holds an MPA in global energy management and policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, an MS in education from Hunter College, and a BA in international affairs from Lafayette College.
