A new report from Navigant Research examines the global market for the deployment of turnkey Energy as a Service (EaaS), providing market forecasts, segmented by region, application, and deployment model, through 2028.

Corporate commercial and industrial (C&I) energy and sustainability managers have new options to address their energy management needs. Transcending single-site, fee-for-service energy efficiency projects requiring customer CAPEX, a variety of new solutions, transaction financing instruments, and business model options are coming together to form the EaaS framework. Click to tweet: According to a new report from @NavigantRSRCH, the annual global market for the deployment of C&I EaaS is expected to reach $278 billion by 2028.

“A full set of EaaS solutions with financing options will increasingly be required to address the portfolio needs of C&I customers, with energy storage and smart building analytics and controls as key enabling technologies,” says William Tokash, senior research analyst with Navigant Research. “The rise of these new financing instruments will form the foundation of the delivery of new EaaS vendor business models.”

The largest region for C&I EaaS is projected to be Asia Pacific. The emergence of competitive supply in China’s C&I market and the growth of distributed solar PV are expected create new onsite energy supply options.

The report, Energy as a Service Overview, analyzes the global market for the deployment of turnkey EaaS focused primarily on large Fortune 500 equivalent C&I customers. The study provides an analysis of the drivers, barriers, trends, financing transaction and business models, and key players associated with EaaS offerings. Global market forecasts, segmented by region, application, and deployment model, extend through 2028. The report also examines key applications related to EaaS, as well as the vendor landscape.
