A new Leaderboard report from Guidehouse Insights evaluates the strategy and execution of 11 solar and storage inverter OEMs, with Dynapower, SMA, and Schneider Electric ranked as the market leaders.

The solar and storage inverter market is a diverse and competitive landscape in which vendors offer several solutions for varying types of applications and customers. While several players offer solar-specific solutions, the clean energy market is trending toward not only solar but also energy storage solutions, especially collocated installations of solar plus storage. According to a new Leaderboard report from Guidehouse Insights, Dynapower, SMA, and Schneider Electric are the leading manufacturers of solar and storage inverter solutions.

“Market leaders are manufacturers that seek to provide holistic solutions through their inverter technology,” says Maria Chavez, research analyst with Guidehouse Insights. “These three companies have a significant share of business in the energy market, especially with inverter technology, and a host of inverter offerings across multiple customer segments accompanied by a wide, global network reach.”

A solid group of companies trail these leaders with a diverse inverter product and service portfolio, while others have a robust presence in the solar or storage system space that puts them in a good position to be successful if and when their inverter offerings are expanded.

The report, Guidehouse Insights Leaderboard: Solar and Storage Inverter OEMs, evaluates the strategy and execution of 11 inverter OEMs. Using Guidehouse Insights’ proprietary Leaderboard methodology, vendors are profiled, rated, and ranked to provide industry participants with an objective assessment of these companies’ relative strengths and weaknesses in the global solar and storage inverter market.
