THE CHALLENGE:
A large regional utility engaged Guidehouse Insights to examine server load management (SLM) as an emerging category of software solutions geared toward improving the energy efficiency of data centers.
THE APPROACH:
- Identified and assessed the capability of multiple SLM software solutions including virtualization, server improvements, and data center infrastructure management (DCIM)
- Delivered an in-depth evaluation of the three technologies with the highest likelihood of success, along with implementation suggestions and potential obstacles
THE RESULT: Guidehouse Insights’ analysis was used as an input into a new energy efficiency program offering for commercial & industrial (C&I) customers.
